Ready, Set......Vacation!

Well. My Passport arrived today. It's the first time that I've had a Passport. (Christ, Kristine is on her 3rd one!) In just 3 weeks, we leave for a fun filled, week long trip to the Dominican Republic. I can't wait! I want to kayak around the shore where we will be staying. My only fear, is that I'll daydream, look back and NOT see the Dominican Republic anymore! Oh well, It will just be a lot of paddling to Miami!

On a more important note. I asked Kristine to marry me this past Saturday. (She said yes!) We have set a date of 15 September 2007. More to follow!

Next Month, Kristine and I will spend a week in Sosua, Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. This is a much overdue vacation.

A few weeks ago, I was informed that the Hospital that I have worked at for the past 18+ years, is planning on outsourcing my job! Yes, Just like they talk about on the big cable news channels. (Only not to a foreign country!) From what I hear, I only have about 1 1/2 - 2 months left. I started here way back in 1987. I came here and fell in love with the Air-Medical helicopter program that I work for. It has been the center point of my life since my first day here. I won't mention the name of the hospital or the flight program. I care way too much to do that. When the rug is pulled out from under me, I'll become a displaced employee. Our HR Dept. will try to find some type of a replacement job for me. (Good thing I can still mop!)

I can only hope for the best. I have a little more than a year to go until I reach 20 years for my pension. After that, who knows? I think I hear NY City calling. I better go answer!
