Remembering Challenger

It was 20 years ago today that we lost the Space Shuttle Challenger. Mission STS 51-L exploded 73 seconds after lift off, killing all seven astronauts. Let us pause a moment to honor and remember Dick Scobee, Mike Smith, Ellison Onizuka, Judy Resnik, Ron McNair, Greg Jarvis, and teacher Christa McAuliffe.
When I was a kid, I remember clipping all of the photos and stories about the Apollo missions out of the NY Daily News. At the time, my dream was to work in NASA Mission Control.
Now, many years later, I enter my 19th year working at University MedEvac Flight Operations. The aircraft don't travel as fast or go as high, but in a way I feel that I did fulfill my dream.
