Philadelphia Trip
This past weekend, Kristine and I took my oldest niece and nephew, Lanie and Matt to Philadelphia. We spent several hours at the Franklin Institute. The kids really loved the giant walk-through heart. (See the photo above)
Afterward, we went to Penn's Landing (Where the 2nd above photo was taken). We had a GREAT time.

Illness And Hospital Stay

On Friday March 30th, I was admitted to the Lehigh Valley Hospital with pancreatitis. I was an inpatient for eight days. I couldn't have received better care. The physicians and staff were great.
My pancreatitis was the result of my not being able to get my Lipitor prescription filled due to it being rejected by my health insurance.
The pharmacy was willing to fill the prescription, but I would have paid over $5.00 a pill! That's over $160.00 a month!
Now, I'm back healthy again and taking the different (Cheaper) medication that my insurance provider wants me to take.
It really is the tail wagging the dog!

A Sad Loss

On 25 January, The Air-Medical industry and aviation in general experienced a sad loss, when Robert 'Bob' Carman, an employee of EraMED LLC (formally Keystone Helicopter Flight Services) and pilot for the flight program University MedEvac passed away after a valiant battle with a terminal illness. I worked with Bob for almost 20 years. He was a good man and a good pilot. Fly safe my friend. You now watch over the rest of us.

A new Beginnng!

I have been at my new job at Keystone Helicopter Corp. for almost a month now. I was offered and accepted the position of Manager of the new Operations Center, located at Pottstown-Limerick Airport. (KPTW for you Pilot types!)
Very soon we will become EraMed. Shortly after the new year, we will begin tracking all of the EraMed (formally keystone Helicopter) aircraft from Maine to Puerto Rico. Lot's of projects and work ahead!
As I type this, I am working the overnight shift here at the Ops Center. Miles away, in Orefield, PA, my Fiancee kristine (AKA Krispy) is working her job at Eastern PA Medcom.
Hi Kristine!

End Of An Era!

Well, My job here at University MedEvac will come to an end in two weeks. I started here way back in 1987. Back then, we had not yet completed 2,000 missions since the flight program began in 1981. As I type this, we have completed over 42,000 missions. Now, 19 years and 40,000+ missions later, things are coming to an end.
There is However, good news. I have been hired by Keystone Helicopter Corporation. I will work in their new Operations Center. I will be doing much of what I have spent the past two decades doing with the eventual addition of GPS (satellite) flight tracking of ALL of Keystone Helicopter's aircraft. I look forward to the challenge!
I am a firm believer that from bad, comes good. It looks like this is what is about to happen once again!
